summer's end

A belated farewell to Scotland, with some repeat photos.
As always, Miss Nicks expresses the sentiments better than I can.
{There's a bit of Miss Swift in there too. Don't hate.}

Six[teen] weeks in a foreign country.

How the time flew.

I didn't speak the language.

But somehow I knew.

At the end of the [Glasweg]ian summer.

It rains fast and it rains hard.

There's something about the way the street looks
when it's just rained.

There's a glow off the pavement.

And the summer became the fall.

I was not ready for the winter.

It makes no difference at all.

'Cause I wear boots all summer long.

Three castles, two palaces.
Two cities, two cathedrals.
One seaside, one island, one loch.
A Royal Wedding.
Successful Scottish Summer, check.

So here's to the heath, the hill, and the heather--

The bonnet, the plaid, the kilt, and the feather.

Scotland, you were not expected.

But I love you nonetheless.

the bonnie banks o' loch lomond

The best way to spend your last night in Scotland ?
Watching the sun set on Loch Lomond, of course.
I know.

By yon bonnie banks an' by yon bonnie braes...

Where the sun shines bright on Loch Lomond.

Where me an' my true love will ne-er meet again.

On the bonnie, bonnie banks o’ Loch Lomond.

Oh ye’ll take the high road, an' I'll take the low.

An' I’ll be in Scotland afore ye.

For me an' my true love will ne-er meet again.

On the bonnie, bonnie banks o’ Loch Lomond.

‘Twas there that we parted in yon shady glen.

On the steep, steep sides o’ Ben Lomond.

Where in soft purple hue, the hielan hills we view.

An' the moon comin’ out in the gloamin’.

The wee birdies sing an' the wild flowers spring.

An' in sunshine the waters are sleeping.

But the broken heart, it kens nae second spring again.

Tho’ the waeful may cease frae their greetin'.

i belong to glasgow

Still playing Scotland catch-up, and...

I belong to Glasgow.

Dear old Glasgow town.

Well what's the matter wi' Glasgow ?

For it's goin' round and round.

I'm only a common [young] working [lass].

As anyone here can see.

But when I get a couple o' drinks on a Saturday...

Glasgow belongs to me!

white houses

And back to Glasgow West End.

Here we are now going to the west side.

Weapons in hand as we go for a ride.

Some may come and some may stay.

Watching out for a sunny day.

Where there's love and darkness and my sidearm.

southside

A little bit more from the South Side...
Shawlands area, mostly.
Where I passed through every day to go to "work."

Shawlands.

The Corona.

Stalks and Stems of Glasgow.

In honour of Lindsey Buckingham.

The Tramway.

I love this building.

Glasgow Bridge Centre for GM.

Building that reminds of Parisian appartements, un peu.

Abandoned.

The South Side is home to the Scottish Ballet.
Unfortunately they didn't have any summer shows on.

And Glasgow is golden arches and crown spires.
