A few weekends ago, my friend Heidi came up to Glasgow for a visit.
It provided a welcome opportunity to visit some of the many
hipster-y cafés, coffee shops, and bars Glasgow has to offer.
hipster-y cafés, coffee shops, and bars Glasgow has to offer.
Urban Outfitters-esque interiors and all.
Glasgow even has an Urban Outfitters.
All of this is denied to me in Medieval York.
Indie Glasgow = West End.
And brunch at Hillhead Bookclub {hb},
which I've already featured on le blog.
But I love this place so much, I'm showing it again.
It used to be an old cinema.
So it's got an amazing balcony above the bar.
And is just generally amazing.
And yes.
That is a light-up moose head.
I love the tufted blue velvet booths.
And their drinks are lovely.
Sunday morning mimosas & strawberry water.
Heart {hb}.
Glasgow Sundays require Creswell Lane.
Pop into De Courcy's Arcade.
Sadly it wasn't open yet.
So onto my fave Ashton Lane.
And some University graffiti for good measure.
The best coffee in Glasgow: Beanscene.
Oh I'll miss it.
Heading into the city centre;
At the western end of Sauciehall Street.
The Savoy.
AND THEN A MAJOR DISCOVERY.
REAL, AUTHENTIC BURRITOS IN THE UK.
WTF.
AMAZING.
The place is called Pinto, and it's basically a Chipotle rip-off.
Y'all have no idea how much I miss good Mexican food.
And I discover this place right before I leave Ggow, ugh.
Another fave bit of University graffiti.
And Bath Street at dusk.
For drinks at Lucky 7.
And more amazing interiors.
All those logs have little words and drawings on them.
And peeling wallpaper, so urban.
