going a traveling (up reisen gohn)

I have returned from Bavariaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa !
{And the Rhineland and Thuringia and Franconia, woo.}

I spent today recovering from a week of amazing,
life-altering craziness in gorgeous Germany.
I can't express enough my love for that country.
It is one of my motherlands, after all !

Our group visited Cologne, Koblenz, Nuremburg, Erfurt,
Waldsassen, Regensburg, Augsburg, and Munich in seven days.
KEEN.

We left on the overnight ferry from Hull to Rotterdam.
This was an experience in and of itself.
Immersed in the age-old tradition of British stag and hen "do's,"
all en route to Amsterdam, of course.

A piña colada.

A no smoking sign on your cigarette break.

Life has a funny way of sneaking up on you.

A shadowy figure in the corridor.

We docked in Rotterdam in the morning, and drove
across the Netherlands to reach our first destination, Cologne.
Pictures of that coming up next.

Still in photo-editing mode. Not to mention that I had a devastating
memory card mishap and can't access one day's pictures.
I should have known better than to buy a cheap-ass replacement
card at a suspicious German store called Shlecker. Fick mein leben.

In the meantime, I'm drinking lots of English tea,
going pescatarian for the forseeable future
(I have never eaten so much meat in one week as I did in Germany),
and paging through German fashion magazines.

Stay tuned for Cologne and let's hope I can get
this piece o' crap memory card to work.
xx
