fascination street

Since I still don't have my British bank account (sore subject), I have been restraining myself from entering the shops. And those of you who are aware of my shopping addiction know this is a good thing. But I do love the window displays, so I've been collecting photographs of those.

So below are some photos of store windows around town. Ashley Barnas, all these owls are for you. And further evidence that you should take up an MA at the Uni of York as well.

Minster peeking through the shopping streets.

I love this sculpture of Minerva on the corner of High Petergate and Minster Gates. Glaucus, the white owl to her side, symbolises the goddess's wisdom. According to mythology, he only flaps his wings to fly at dusk...

So many owls in York shops!

More owls...

And more.

Tea cozies. Note the owl in the center.

Cath Kidston is my favourite store ever. EVER.

Floral explosions are quite possibly the best type of decorating there is.

Owl cupcakes at Betty's.

It's Wool Week at Jigsaw.
