Or: Our Cultural Heritage Management fall field trip. We visited the Park Hill council housing estate in Sheffield, which is undergoing a huge restoration project to renovate the flats into a mixture of social housing and trendy private apartments. Oh and pour les américains, Sheffield is in South Yorkshire.
So, some snaps from Sheff...
Park Hill, before renovation.
Tap Room.
People are still living in this section of Park Hill.
A classmate in one of the vacant old flats.
Sarah and Eleanor gazing off into The Sheffield Abyss.
The Sheffield Abyss.
Leaving the old section, where the last few
remaining residents will soon have to leave too.
Where old meets newly-refurbished.
Written in graffiti on a bridge in the park...
Do you ever get the feeling that you're missing the mark ?
Getting to look at the renovated model flats was fun.
