scarborough fair/canticle

Today we went to Scarborough, the seaside resort in North Yorkshire, for history of art.

We were sort of rushed through town to get to the church we visited, because our train was late in arriving. So not too many opportunities for photos. I am le tired, so I'll show the church in another post later. For now, just some views of beautiful Scarborough and the North Sea. And yes, the sky really was that blue.

Are you going to Scarborough fair?

Remember me to one who lives there.

Le Grand Hotel with seagull.

Between the salt water and the sea strand.

From the Spa Bridge.

Do you want to go to the seaside?

I'm not trying to say that everybody wants to go.

Drove me like a magnet to the sea, to the sea.

Fortress on the hill.

Amusements.

Walking up the hill.

Washed is the ground with so many tears.

Tell her to find me an acre of land.

On the side of a hill in the deep forest green.

On the side of a hill, a sprinkling of leaves.

But I hold onto secrets in white houses.

And I pray it never fades in white houses.

In white houses.

Swallowed in the sea.

I like the shops.

Un p'tit coin français.

Salisbury Hotel.

I'm gone as the day is fading in white houses.
And I'll visit Scarborough again soon.
In the summer when I can swim in the sea.
xx
