take me to the river

Walking along the Thames the other day made me remember how much I like walking along rivers. I spent many hours wandering beside the Seine whilst in Paris, and had many leisurely Sunday mornings along the good old Potomac in Washington. Luckily, my house in York is just a short jaunt from the little path along the Ouse.

Spring weather is here, so I spent the early afternoon enjoying the sunshine and taking the path away from town, hearing the peaceful sounds of the river beside me. It was a nice diversion from stressing over upcoming essays and googling gang warfare in Glasgow.

Take me to the river.

Drop me in the water.

Oh yeah, Judi Dench is from York.

A certain shade of green.

Blue skies exaggerated.

Our little Ouse.

Dip into the river.

Minster from across the green park.
Can you spy the little dog?

This walk makes me want to have a dog.

All I need are some green Hunter wellies and a little
terrier to make me feel like a proper English girl.

Boathouse.

Lifesavers.

I like a bit of orange.

For mom, a Westie across the river.

The Ouse Cruise is making its way downriver.

I'm waiting for my visitors to come so we can go on this.
This Maryland girl needs herself a boat ride.

Black & Blue.

Looking towards town through the railway bridge tunnel.

It's just like a river,
It's never ending.

  1. I will totally take that boat ride with you. I'll bring the pups and buy some Wellies when I get there with you.
