the shoes that were danced to pieces (die zertanzten schuhe)

Precious free time in Regensburg, my favourite place on our trip.
An historic Bavarian city on the rivers Danube and Regen,
with a Gothic cathedral, medieval patrician tower houses,
amazing antique shops, and pastel candy-colored buildings.

Heading into town.

Drei Kronen, three crowns.

Berufs Moden.

The Dom spires towering above the city.

Such pretty colors.

Looking for the secrets that only cobblestones hold.

Red and white striped market stalls all about.

Artischoken.

Blumen.

Germans enjoying the sunshine.

Ceiling of a random church we peeked into.

The prettiest blues.

Regensburger Dom.

Bluest of skies.

Cathedrals in my heart.

Really lovely how people hang out and drink on the cathedral steps.

It's the little things like this that make me love Europe.

How amazing would it be to live in Germany ?

I've got my sights set there next.

I need to pick up learning German where I left off.

Nice funerary monument outside the Dom.

The colors of Regensburg remind me of a box of Ladurée macarons.

Konditorei Cafe.

A square.

A Baroque church.

1654.

Salmon pink & sea foam green.

Hit up the Kramgasse {Grocer's Alley}...

A lovely narrow street across from the Dom,
known for its incredible antiques shops.

An Easter tree.

An antiques shop.

Danae window shopping.

The window displays are amazing and bizarre.

Also ridiculously expensive.

An amazing crown print I really regret not buying.
That 50% off price tag is just taunting me now.

Wer war der Tor, wer Weiser, wer Bettler oder Kaiser ?
Which means something like:
Who was the fool, who the wise man, who the beggar, or emperor ?
{Food for thought.}

And oh my god the cameos.

Basically I'll be coming back to Regensburg to do
some antiques shop damage when I get rich $$$$.

Bicycle.

Creepy dolls.

I do not even know.

The other end of the Kramgasse.

A patrician tower house further on down the street.

A pretty façade.

With dragon details.

Another square, another tower.

Time cast a spell on you.

Beautiful surprises around every corner.

That yellow building is the medieval town hall.

Prinzesses only.

Pink.

Lovely boutique.

Bonne chance, les petits cochons.

The local garb.

Trop cool.

Bavarian clothing shop.

Another tower house.

Regensburg dusk.

And next up, a Regensburg evening...
xx
